November 2024 was a month of celebration, collaboration, and service for the Rotary Club of Delhi Akash Megapolis, leaving lasting smiles and making a tangible difference in the community.

1. Children’s Day Celebration with Koshish Students
On Children’s Day, a vibrant cultural program was organized for the Koshish children at the community center in Shahabad Dairy, sponsored by Disha Publication.
The event included:
- Magic Show: 12 mesmerizing activities performed by a professional team.
- Cultural Performances: Dance, songs, and poetry recitations by the children.
- Creative Activities: Clay modeling, painting, and drawing sessions.
- Sharing and Feedback: Teachers, volunteers, and children shared their experiences during the event.
- Prize Distribution: Awards for the best performers.
- Shoe Distribution: Shoes were distributed to children, sponsored by Disha Publication.
- Snacks Distribution: Chocolates, fruit drinks, popcorn, and other snacks were given to all participants.
The entire program was recorded by Disha Publication, capturing the children’s joy and enthusiasm.
2. Shoe Distribution for Koshish Students
Continuing their support, Disha Publication sponsored a shoe distribution drive for the children of Koshish, ensuring comfort and smiles for every child.
3. Construction of a Check Dam in Rajasthan
In a collaborative effort with international Rotarians, a Check Dam was built at Jodhawas, Bhangdoli, Thanagazi, district Alwar, Rajasthan.
This marks the club’s 15th Check Dam in the last 14 years, showcasing its commitment to water conservation and sustainable development.
4. Fellowship cum Farewell Dinner: “The DAM Rotarians”
A heartfelt fellowship cum farewell dinner was hosted for the Rotary Dream Team 2024 – “The DAM Rotarians”, celebrating their success in completing the 15th Check Dam.
- The experience of living in tents and participating in physical labor at the dam site brought the team closer together.
- The evening was filled with gratitude, camaraderie, and reflections on the impact of their work.

The month of September 2024 was marked by remarkable achievements, impactful initiatives, and heartfelt celebrations by the Rotary Club of Delhi Akash Megapolis.

- Youth Ideathon 2024 Achievements
- Two teams from Interact Club, Smart Thinkers and Dharohar Raksha from Class IX, achieved Top 500 positions in the prestigious Youth Ideathon 2024, organized by ThinkStartup, MEPSC, and CBSE.
- Competing against 50,000 ideas nationwide, these teams advanced through various levels to secure their place among the top. Congratulations to our young innovators for their brilliance and creativity!
- Prestigious ‘Best Club’ Award for Interact Club of MPS
- The Interact Club of Modern Public School (MPS) was honored with the ‘Best Club’ award by Rotary Club of Delhi Akash Megapolis.
- Ms. Neetu Luthra, Club Incharge, received the Best Rotarian of the Year 2023-24 award.
- This recognition celebrates the dedication of mentors and the passion of young interactors. Heartfelt gratitude to all contributors for their exemplary commitment.
- Medical Camp for ‘Koshish’ Schools
- In association with C K Birla Hospital, a medical camp was organized for residents and parents of students from five Koshish Schools in JJ Colony, Shahbad Dairy, Rohini on 28th September 2024.
- The camp provided essential medical care, emphasizing Rotary’s commitment to health and well-being.
- Charter Presentation and Installation of Interact Club at Maxfort School, Paschim Vihar
- The Charter Presentation and Installation Ceremony for the Interact Club of Maxfort School, Paschim Vihar, was a momentous occasion.
- Special thanks to Principal Roopa Midha and the Interact team for their support. This marks the club’s 10th Interact Club!
- Installation of Interact Club at Mira Model School, Janakpuri
- Another milestone was the installation ceremony of the Interact Club at Mira Model School, Janakpuri.
- Four best interactors were recognized and presented with Rotary ties, symbolizing their dedication and service for the year ahead.
- Teachers’ Day Celebration at Koshish
- The students of Koshish, a non-formal education initiative for children of migrant laborers and daily wage workers, celebrated Teachers’ Day.
- Thoughtfully, some children brought small gifts for their teachers, showcasing their gratitude and respect.

In August, the Rotary Club of Delhi Akash Megapolis celebrated India’s Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotism. 2. Speaker Meeting on 24th August: “An Audiovisual Walkthrough the Life and Times of Partition 1947”
On the 24th of August, the club organized a mesmerizing speaker meeting, providing an audiovisual walkthrough of the life and times during Partition 1947. The session delved into one of the most pivotal moments in history, vividly recounting the events, challenges, and resilience of the people during that period. The engaging presentation was both informative and emotional, leaving the audience deeply moved and reflective about the importance of unity and peace in today’s world.

The Installation Ceremony and Governor’s Official Visit (GOV) of the Rotary Club of Delhi Akash Megapolis in July was a momentous occasion, marking the beginning of a new leadership year. During the event, Sonia Sahny was formally installed as the Club President, taking the baton to lead the club into another impactful year. The ceremony, attended by members, dignitaries, and guests, also included the official visit by the District Governor, highlighting the club’s contributions and future aspirations. It was a celebration of service, leadership, and the collective commitment to making a difference in the community.
